VOTE FOR ME

Obama, Biden, McCain, Palin… no matter who you favor in the upcoming election, most of us will be voting for the candidate we feel can best turn around America’s troubled economy.

Over the past few years, I’ve felt the pinch every time I go shopping for groceries or fill my car with gas.

Last Wednesday, my publisher, Gibbs Smith, called me to say that “because of the weak economy they will be publishing fewer books than they originally anticipated this year.”

And my book, Waterside Cottages, has been put on the list of books that may be postponed for publication for a year or more!

I’m pretty sure there’s nothing I could have done differently as I’ve done everything that was requested or expected of an author.

But maybe there’s one thing I can still do

Perhaps, if Gibbs Smith sees how much interest there is in Waterside Cottages, they might move it from the “POSTPONED TITLES” list to the “ROLL THE PRESSES” list.

Here’s where YOU come in.

Since many of you have expressed a passion for coastal style decorating and have indicated that you plan to order one or more copies of Waterside Cottages as soon as it is published, I wonder if you’d do me a favor?

Please VOTE for me by posting a comment telling Gibbs Smith you’d like to see Waterside Cottages published – now!

I will then forward all of your comments to Mr. Christopher Robbins, the CEO of Gibbs Smith.

In the spirit of November’s election, I’d like to be the winner who never quit, rather than the quitter who never won. I truly appreciate your continued support and friendship.

Please publish Waterfront Cottages, I live in a coastal San Diego town, and can't wait to see the great picture that Barbara took.

Now is the perfect time to publish Waterfront Cottages. While the economic forecast is grey and gloomy, the aesthetic imagery offers a bridge to inspired luminosity. Who would not welcome an opportunity to escape for a few moments into the peace and beauty that the images project, or to be whisked away in a swirl of ideas, plans and dreams?
Please publish Waterfront Cottages now.

I've been looking forward to this book! That is one thing that I would definately spend money on today, or any day, a coastal decorating book. There are many of us out there who not only love Barbara Jacksier's work, but love well-done decorating books and buy them on a consistant basis. Hope this is one book that will be available quite soon!

Please publish this book! With a rough economy, books like this take the sting out of staycations!
If I can't go away physically, at least I can take a vacation mentally. Publishing this book is like a ticket to a fabulous place, even if it's only in my mind!

If you publish the book, I certainly will buy it!

Barbara, during difficult economic times, we all spend more time in our homes. Your book would give us decorating inspiration.

Dear Barbara,

Gibbs Smith certainly needs to reconsider the publishing schedule of your book, Waterside Cottages!

When the economy is tough, we tend to return to our homes, wanting to re-do, fluff up, create a safe space to weather the "storm". Or even just have a good book to distract us. What better time to publish a happy, and inspirational book with a focus on the home?

What ARE they thinking?

Here's hoping they change thier minds! Chris

YES! I would like to see Waterside Cottages printed right now!! I simply can't wait to see it!!

I would like to order your book. Please let me know when it is available. I would like to post it on my blog too.

Everything Barbara writes is usually interesting and informative; it would be a shame if Waterfront Cottages didn't see the light of day just because some high-flying mortgage bankers screwed up the economy. I personally know a bunch of people who would buy a book like this.

Barbara, I want to echo the sentiments of the other posters here as I love waterfront cottages. I better. I have a cottage that is a block off the water!

So I was looking forward to the publication of your book and hope it will come out SOON. If I were voting, I would vote for your book to be on the shelves tomorrow!

Please keep us posted about its publication date.

Many thanks,

Sheila

I live in a waterfront cottage and look forward to your book. At the mall last weekend, I saw hundreds of people pay $20 to look at playhouse cottages. I know there is a market when waterfront view homes still sell and people pay to see decorated playhouses!

Weak economy or no, a book like this deserves to be published as soon as possible because the public can only benefit from it.

It looks like a wonderful book! One that would make a great gift! I can't wait to read it!

Please,please consider publishing Waterside Cottages.
We have a vintage shop that includes furniture and accessories. We see first hand how our customers love the comfort and fun of decorating with the beach life style in mind.
We have seen that anything that has to do with the beach is a popular decorating theme in todays market.
The Atlanta Market has had one whole section during the past year devoted to the Coastal Lifestyle. You can find this theme in every decorating magazine.
I am sure that Waterside Cottages would be a huge hit.

You have my vote!
Since the ecomomy is so poor and we really are not going anywhere... it is even more important to make out homes cozy
and inviting. I hope that they reconsider! Best of luck!

Would love for the Waterfront Cottage Book to be published as originally scheduled in the Spring of 2009. We need more beautiful things in this world - like beautiful decorating books. Please do not delay this book!

Barbara Jacksier is one of the most intelligent women I know. It would be a loss to the literary world NOT to publish any of her works.
