Wonderful that your featured cabins are being kept in the character in which they were built. The builders background and design of the cabins added another preservation dimension of log cabins in both Oregon and the U.S. -- Barbara

What a lovely serene place to relax.... nestled in the woods.. warm and toasty on a winters night... lots of privacy...

A bit dark on the inisde but I imagine that adds to the quiet facade of the cabin itself...

How neat to live there like that...

Very nice article Barbara!!

I have always had a special place in my heart for log homes. We were going to build one before we found a barn to move in to. I will have to check out the magazine. I am sure it is great.

Hi Barbara,
Growing up, we had a view of Mt. Hood from our kitchen window (80 miles away). Of course we went there for winter fun, but one of my favorite times was hiking there in the spring and drawing wild flowers. Your lovely article brought back memories. The owner must have really enjoyed the building process, with such a fine craftsman to work with.

Beautiful... just enchanting. I wanted to build a timber frame home but the expense was to much for our budget. So, from pine and cedar trees from my parents home we make our own fake timbers. We designed the outside from a home I had seen in Southern Living. I would tear out pages that I loved of the magazines Timber Frame homes and Southern Living and design from them. I know have a perfect home for our family.
