Last night at Summer House Antiques was amazing. Michelle did a great job on getting out the word on short notice AND books were flying out of the shop.
The Petaluma gals (and guys) are fun and made me feel like a rock star. Thanks everyone! I'll share photos in my next post. But today, please push the pause button on my West Coast trip... and enjoy this Halloween tour of my East Coast home, Clifton, Virginia.
Clifton is a sleepy little Civil War era town not far from Washington DC ...
Except for two days each year. Both exceptions occur in Fall. The first is Clifton Day. When thousands of folks come to our annual fair. They come to check out the booth's filled with antiques.
And the re-inactments...
And the music ...
To hear the the City Dwelling Nature Seekers just click.
The second is Halloween.
Clifton does Halloween in a big way.
Thousands of kids --and parents-- come from miles around to see the "show".
It's pretty impressive.
Got to fly now....
I'm off to a Wizard of Oz theme dinner party at a Tapas restaurant in Berkeley.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Your town does Halloween good!
So happy to hear the event went well last night. Have another wonderful evening. Still perusing the book at a snails pace so I don't miss a thing...
Happy Halloween!

Hello Barbara... thanks for sharing the cool Halloween pictures from Clifton... I would love to be there! Still handing out treats to the little ones here... Happy Halloween to you too! Bisous... Julie Marie
Ahhh, Clifton is so lovely! xo, suzy
What a great little town... I always cringe when big city mayors talk as tho bigger is better. It's just not so.
I'm guessing you went as Dorothy?
Smiles,
~Julia
Loved your halloween pics!
happy day,
Rosa
Well of course you are a rock star!
I hope you partied like one!
;-)
Awesome town - thanks for letting us visit!

Fun event. I like the little mice too. I saw those in Michael's and they look so much cuter in actual use-lol.
Great photos!
I'm enjoying the travels you're on...you are seeing the coolest places!
We have a wonderful independent bookstore here in Atlantic Beach, FL; and another one up on Amelia Island, in Fernandina Beach. Come here on your book tour! We often have book signings (in fact...Pat Conroy is coming here on 11/11!) and I think Waterside Cottages would be a nice seller, here in our locale. No, I don't own the bookstore, but I know the owner and I'm sure she'd set it up if your publisher could bring you here. I'd love to meet you and take you around Atlantic Beach and environs...lots of interesting beach (and modern) architecture would make for a fun curbside tour. And our town is very sweet and of course: the beach! I would love it if you came!
LOVE ALL THE PHOTOS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
