WHITE LIGHTENING

Storms have messed up my internet service since Saturday, so I'm afraid you are going to have to wait until Wednesday for the real WHITE LIGHTENING post.

I've got some great photos of white homes that I want to share but I'm not sure how long my connection will last, so I'm going to bed instead of trying to post and losing the post at the last minute. No pretty colors today, just in case.

I leave for Casey Key at dawn on Monday. Dan and I will be shooting Nikki's house. You can see the Gulf of Mexico from the back. The yard is filled with swaying palms and gorgeous old oaks with wild orchids in the knotholes. Don't hate me.

P.S. The new ROMANTIC HOMES is now on sale and my dear friend Tara Frey's first installment of her new column appears on pages 18-19. It's all about Beautiful Blogs. A must read!

Since you'll have to wait a little longer for my thoughts on Decorating With White, why not visit www.whitecountry.blogspot.com. Outi is wonder woman in disguise. She cooks, she sews, she crochets, she lives a creative life, she keeps house, she runs a business, she dreams about a magical playhouse and it appears.

In case you want to try her wonderful roll recipe. Here's a translation of the measurements:

2 1/2 Hour bread

1 cup milk
1 cup water
25 g cube or 1 packet yeast
2 1/2 tbsp honey
1 tsp salt
5 cups flour plus extra

Outi lives in Finland...

I look forward to seeing the white homes. I LOVE white, but always seem to get caught up in colors after all. Must mean I am not meant to have it, if I can never get it to where I am happy with it!
