WATERSIDE WEDNESDAY

To celebrate the release of Waterside Cottages, I’d like to start a new blog feature called Waterside Wednesdays. But...(Photo by Dan Mayers)

I’m not sure what WW should showcase. And I’d appreciate your help.

Should Waterside Wednesday be a beach worthy recipe?

A coastal craft project?

A waterside photo?(Photo by Dan Mayers)

All of the above? Something entirely different?

Something other bloggers can participate in?

Please leave a comment with your ideas and suggestions.

Also, my Win A Copy of Waterside Cottages Contest is still open! Although Amazon has received their book shipment (thanks Suzie Q for letting me know), mine are still en route.

*** BLOG DU JOUR ***

This isn't a blog but I think you'll be inspired by this slide show of store displays. Good design is good design and the same principles apply whether you are selling cupcakes, creating a web site or arranging a tabletop vignette in your home.

Looking at these displays convinced me that color placement can be more important than which colors you choose. Visit VMSD magazine's slide show by clicking on the words slide show (above) or cutting and pasting: vmsd.com/content/your-picks-great-displays-small-spaces

Wow! Love your header!
I was blog hopping and I am so glad to have found you. What lovely inspiration! ;)
I grew up on the coast of New England but after getting married, had to move out to upstate NY. So sad. I miss the ocean and my family terribly. And my hubby has gained a love for the ocean as well. So he and I have been trying to move back to the Maine coast ever since.
Congratulations on your book, I can't wait to pick it up.
Blessings,
Molly

I love blogger photo groups and participate in two. Since not everyone lives near the water an open interpretive theme might work for most. have a great fourth. I'll be watching the fireworks at the Beach!

I too like the idea of all of the above but with a mix...... with the summer evenings becoming hot...one doesnt feel much like cooking so some great recipes would be fantastic... photos...oh to live vicariously through a good photo especially if its Dan or perhaps some guest bloggers who might submit a photo or two.... then of course crafts... I always love getting new ideas that I can incorporate or get inspiration from... so I say GO for it!!!

Ok .. so ...I know I have mispelled something ...I always do when I write to you *snicker ...*wink

Cant wait to see what you come up with ...you are definitely one of the most creative people I have ever met

LOTS OF HUGS

So glad I did. I can't wait to get your book. Another book to dream over until we retire and I can have that beach cottage of my own!!! Until then just collecting pieces to treasure each visit.
I think a new item each week would be great.
Happy 4th ,
Debra

Hi Barbara,

I say do whatever you want each Wednesday...always doing something different adds spice for everyone. That way readers will not know what to expect when they visit each Wednesday, it will always be a new surprise.

i think just keeping the 'waterside' as the general theme and then touching on all of the different 'watersidey things' is a great way to keep it fresh...sometimes the same old themes get boring

beautiful book...know you had fun writing it and preparing for production

Hello Barbara, All your photos are beautiful and I think different variations of a theme is so much more interesting, your book looks gorgeous I went back to have a sneak peek, congratulations and happy days, Kathy.

I vote all of the above...perhaps it could be all of those but alternate every week?..and so we can all participate.

I think Waterside Wednesday should be anything to do with seaside. It could be recipes, crafts, and especially photos. I live in landlocked Phoenix and yet, I love the ocean and miss it. So, I would love to go on a virtual vacation every Wednesday. From the desert to the sea by simply reading blogs. How fun!

I think its all of the above. But its that last image that I love most.

Oh, great idea - I'm sorry to repeat what the above comments have been, but I would enjoy all of the above ideas too (although I live in the country, I do love reading seafood recipes!). Congratulations on the launch of your book - you must be extremely proud.

Ditto! Recipes, coastal crafts, water photos, beach life... do whatever strikes your fancy on any given week... whatever feels fresh & fun to you, I know we'll all enjoy.

Barbara, thanks for visiting my blog last week, it lead me to yours and I am just happy as a Wickle Pickle (which are available nationwide, thanks for asking).

Waterside Cottages? Sounds like a book we need around The Hut!

Waterside Wednesdays? Great idea! I'm with those who say all of the above every week, then everyone can participate every week. While some of us do all these things, others may not do crafts or cook. Plus it would be a lot more fun to not know what to expect on the next blog.

Now I'm off to visit your website. Thanks again, and drop by anytime, there's always margaritas and pina coladas waiting at The Hut!

I agree with ALL of the above for your Waterside Wednesdays. It would be a varied and enjoyable blog to scroll through!
Hope it's not to late to get my name in to win a copy of your book.

All of the above but with a different theme each week! One week a recipe, one week boats, the possibilities are endless! If we linked up via Mr. Linky we would know who is participating. What fun!
